Midnight Pasta with Petite Steak, Jumbo Shrimp, and Sinatra’s Marinara Sauce (for 1)

Years ago, seems like a universe ago, Jay would visit his retired father living in Vegas. Arriving late at night on a cheap flight, he and his father would head straight to the casinos — not to gamble, but for the steak, lobster and all-you-can-eat shrimp buffets. Feeling nostalgic, this week’s menu features Grilled Steak and Jumbo Shrimp served over Midnight Pasta (linguini) tossed with Frank Sinatra’s Marinara Sauce. (Actually Frank’s mother’s recipe.) We’ve updated this classic by adding roasted mushrooms and zucchini. Parmesan on the side. Mangia!

*Sinatra’s Marinara recipe calls for Italian plum tomatoes, onions, garlic, oregano, basil, and parsley, cooked long and slow over low heat.
